NAWBO Foundation

The Foundation operates as a section 509(a)(3) support organization for the Richmond NAWBO chapter by “soliciting contributions to provide funding for enhancement of the educational and charitable activities currently carried on by the chapter."

The current Foundation board members are Melissa Ball, Janet Brockelhurst, Mary Anne Graff, Claire Guthrie Gastanaga, Pam Chanfrau, Lina Landrigan, Shellie Archer, Laura Osbourne, Genevieve Roberts, and Joan Bowling. The members of the Foundation board are elected each year by the Board of Directors of the Richmond NAWBO chapter. For the past ten years, the Richmond NAWBO Foundation in partnership with corporate sponsors have sponsored the Enterprising Women of Excellence Dinner. This event, at which the Woman Entrepreneur of the Year, the NAWBO Member of the Year, the Rising Star, Community Service, and Innovator awards are presented, raises funds for the Richmond chapter’s educational and charitable programs. Funds raised at the dinner have been used to provide scholarships to Leadership Metro Richmond, fund speakers for chapter programs, and support continuing education of the chapter board members.

Contributions to The Foundation are deductible as a charitable contribution to the full extent of the law.
